Not my favorite activity, that's for sure, but it has to be done. You'd think I'd be good at it since I just did it a few months ago, but packing for a cross-country move where I hand all my earthly possessions over to the fine folks at Suddath United is vastly different from making 87 gazillion trips with my car. It's also tough on my perfectionist tendencies because I really want the contents of each box to fit together perfectly, like a puzzle...but alas, they usually don't. *twitch*
Only minor casualties so far: two broken fingernails, and the back of my left thumb keeps getting scraped by the blade on the tape dispenser. I've been through a whole roll of packing tape and the box count is into the thirties. (By the way: packing tape smells funny.) The desire to stomp all over my roll of bubble wrap is nearly all-consuming.
I'm really peeved at how difficult it is to GIVE AWAY furniture to charity. I've decided to keep my table & chairs and my desk, but I literally can't give away my bed. Neither the Salvation Army nor the Mustard Seed will come to the third floor to pick it up, so I'm probably going to end up sliding it down the stairs and over to the dumpster because I lack a means to get it to Goodwill. Sad.
And has anyone noticed Hurricane Ike winding up out there in the Atlantic? I hope I didn't garner some bad karma by wishing for Fay to come to Central Florida...because there's the possibility that Ike could seriously interefere with my roadtrip plans. There's some irony in there somewhere, I'm sure...
Finally, in case anyone was wondering: I feel a little bit naked without my BlackBerry! :)
Back to it...

I think that you will have to do what I did... buy a BlackBerry to be your cell phone. I love my Pearl, plus it keeps me connected. :) While packing isn't fun, the result of said packing is a sense of accomplishment beyond most others. Keep it up! We must make plans to meet up now that we'll both be former Orlando residents gone north...
